Two Islamic State Hearings in Minneapolis Federal Court

One short hearing in the morning and one longer hearing in the afternoon. See coverage at KARE 11. Here's a sketch from the afternoon hearing:

Pleading Guilty.

I particularly enjoyed sketching AUSA John Docherty who spoke at the first hearing.  Docherty was the prosecutor at the trial of Dean Zimmermann nearly ten years ago. He was also on a war crimes prosecution team at the Hague. I've never been able to get a likeness, but I think this comes close:

It was a long day - three hearings.

One bit of drama I captured on paper - former major league baseball player Albie Pearson testified on behalf of Bruce Prevost and gave Mr. Prevost a big hug afterwards.

Sketches of the Tom Petters Hearing Yesterday

Convicted fraudster Tom Petters returned to Minnesota yesterday for a hearing at the St. Paul Federal Courthouse and I sketched Mr. Petters wearing  the orange jumpsuit  he wears in Leavenworth Prison.
